Our range of vacuum insulating glass
The perfect insulation solution for every room
What is vacuum glass?
Vacuum insulating glass is an advanced form of insulating glass that consists of two glass panes that are held at a small distance from each other by means of tiny spacers (pillars), with a vacuum between the two glass panes.
Vacuum glass is 6 to 12 mm thick and therefore much thinner than all other insulating glass.
Vacuum glass combines the highest insulation value with a small thickness, which means it can be easily installed in existing frames.
Here's how it works:
Vacuum space:
A vacuum space is created between the two panes of glass. This means that there is no air or gas between the panes of glass.
Air is a poor conductor of heat, but even air can still conduct heat and allow convection.
Creating the vacuum minimizes this effect.
Insulation:
The vacuum acts as an effective insulator because there are no molecules
that can transfer heat by conduction.
This means that heat trying to escape from the inside to the outside (or vice versa)
is much more difficult to transfer than with traditional insulating glass.
Coating:
One of the panes of glass is coated on the inside with a thin, special coating that further reduces heat transfer by reducing radiant heat. This further increases the insulating properties of the glass.
In essence, vacuum insulating glass creates a barrier to heat transfer, making the building where it is installed
better insulated and more energy efficient.
